How To Use Find Copyright Free
Simply select the category that you're looking for copyright free files in. By going to a specific category
page you'll be able to use the custom search options which will only search within the pages listed in that
category. This allows you to search multiple sites that are devoted to a single media type all with one quick
search. Please feel free to contact us if you think there are any sites that should be added to the lists.
This site was created because I do a lot of online media projects and I don't want to spend hundreds or
thousands of dollars purchasing the rights to various files. While I will admit that sometimes paying makes
sense, especially with large projects you're profiting from, sometimes you just can't afford the fees.
Please keep in mind that a lot of the copyright free media you'll find here is not actually copyright free.
This directory also lists and searches sites that include creative commons, royalty free, share alike, and
other non restrictive licenses. This does not mean that they are free of copyright though.
For example most creative commons works will require you to attribute the source and include a copy of the
creative commons license that they are under. This is usually done with a simple backlink to the page you found the
file from. Be sure that whatever you find from the sites in this copyright free directory you're following the artist
or copyright holders license terms. However, you can find a LOT of public domain works as well so there is
still quite a bit of completely copyright free material. Just be sure you check!
